Who is the one who gives this reflection? Here follows my brief Curriculum Vitea:

Surname: Kantana, names: Maurus Kakura

My home language is Rumanyo, one of the African languages spoken in Namibia.

My father passed away on the 22nd of July 2005 his name wasAndreas Kantana and my mother is alive with 96 years of age and her name is Annafulgentia Muku Kantana.

I started my education in 1965 when I was 9 years old. In 1975 I left school to go and work due to political upheavals and financial problems. In 1978 with 22 years of age I cameback to school. In 1983 I completed Secondary school and in 1984 I joined the initial formation of the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. I completed my initial formation in November 1992 and was ordained to priesthood on the 1st of May 1993.

From 1994 until 2008 I was involved in formation ministry in our Houses of formation. That is pre-novitiate and Novitiate. From 2009 up tonow I have been and still serving as a Parish priest.In October 2013 the Right Reverend Bishop Joseph Shikongo, OMI, appointed me as his Vicar-General in the Apostolic Vicariate of Rundu.

I am able to communicate in English, Afrikaans, German and in ten (10) African Languages spoken in Namibian, then Zulu, Sotho which are spoken in South Africa and Nyemab which is one of the Angolan African Languages. My present ministry is an administrator of Tondoro Roman Catholic Mission and Parish, at the same time as Vicar-General of the Apostolic Vicariate of Rundu, Namibia. Since June 2017 the Provincial in Council and the Bishop appointed me to take care of three Mission Stations. These are: Tondoro, Nyangana and Omega. On top of these the NCBC (Namibian Catholic Bishops Conference) added two other responsibilities. These are National Delegate to the International Eucharistic Congress and as Director of Permanent Married Deacon Formation Program.

By the grace of God I am trying my level best to do what I can.
